AI is the fear killer
“Edmond de Belamy, from La Famille de Belamy,” by the French art collective Obvious, was the first AI-generated artwork sold at Christie’s, in 2018, for a cool $432.000. Creepy stuff.

“AI’s going to take over everything… EVERYTHING!”

Sure, buddy. It’s bound to happen.

But before that, how about an AI that works exclusively as a backup, a failsafe? Something that catches what we miss. Something that makes us braver, lets us take better risks.

I was inspired by this AI tool called Mia. It’s used in cancer screening. Now, what I do isn’t saving lives — I mean, I can barely save a good idea. But bear with me, because the way they’re using Mia is clever.

Mia doesn’t replace doctors. They still make the first call, checking scans, using all their experience and contextual knowledge — things AI just doesn’t have. Then Mia steps in, double-checking what they might’ve missed. The final call? Still on the doctor. You can’t replace that trust with the patient with an AI bot, right?

The result? A 13% increase in cancers detected. Incredible stuff.

Now, let’s step down a bit to the realm of business. Hope the whiplash wasn’t too hard.

It’s all too easy to start from a place of fear. Play it safe, follow the rules, don’t push too far. Nobody wants to get fired. But how can we grow without stepping into uncharted territory?

Here in Germany, we’re seeing the results of that fear. Our economy’s stalled. Investments on hold, manufacturing down, and we’re the slowest-growing economy in the G7. Why? Fear of risk, fear of change.

But what if we used AI to get past that fear? A safety net that handles fact-checking, risk checks, the necessary hygiene steps, and all those “what ifs.” The stronger the net, the bolder we can be. Imagine starting your next project from such a liberating place, knowing you’re covered.

I want AI that helps me be more human — and a bit more fearless — in what I do.

Because maybe AI isn’t something to fear.

Maybe AI is the fear-killer.
